API Configuration
To power the AI transformations, you need an OpenRouter API key. This key allows the application to communicate with models like Claude, GPT-4, and others. We do not provide a centralized API to ensure you only pay for what you use and maintain full control over your usage.
Privacy & Security
Your API key is sensitive. We treat it with the highest security standards:
- Local Storage:Your key is stored exclusively in your browser's local storage. It never touches our servers.
- Encryption: We use industry-standard AES-GCM 256-bit encryption to protect your key while it is stored on your device.
Open Source & Transparency
Don't just take our word for it. arXiv AI is fully open source. You can audit the entire codebase to see exactly how your data and keys are handled. We believe in transparency as the foundation of trust.
Self-Hosting
If you prefer not to use our hosted version, you can easily run arXiv AI locally or host it on your own infrastructure. This gives you 100% control over the environment and ensures that your data never leaves your own network.
